USO Reading Program

There’s no replacement for a bedtime snuggle, but the USO Reading Program is one way to help young children cope with a long-term separation due to military life, such as deployment. Service members can visit a USO Center or expeditionary location offering the program, record themselves reading a story to their child and have that recording and a copy of the book sent home — ensuring that they can read their child a bedtime story from anywhere in the world. Children can also record themselves reading, and the USO will send that recording to their deployed parent.
