Month of the Military Child - USO's Military Kids Creative Showcase

The USO is hosting the USO Military Kids Creative Showcase to highlight the firsthand experiences of military children. Throughout the Month of the Military Child (April), we will share select submissions across the USO’s digital channels.

Showcase Categories: Writing - Youth (Ages 12 and younger) – 75-500 words. Writing - Teen (Ages 13-18) – 500-1,000 words. Visual Art (All ages) – any medium.

Eligibility: Open to any military child of an active-duty, Reserve, or National Guard service member, aged 18 or younger.

Showcase Rules: Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. EST on April 30, 2024. One submission per category. Open to children of currently serving active duty, reserve and National Guard service members. Submissions must be completed by a parent or legal guardian of the child and sent via the online form. Parents/legal guardians must fill out the submission form to provide consent for their minor’s participation in the showcase. Writing length specifications provided. English language requirement for writing. Only original art will be accepted.
